Hi, my name is Melvin Guthrie. I’m a 34-year-old fitness and nutrition enthusiast. Growing up, involved in various sports, I learned the importance of physical fitness and maintaining supportive nutritional habits to achieve my goals. I’ve dedicated the past 16 years to combining my personal experience, along with research, to develop goal-oriented programs that cater to my client’s needs.
Since everyone’s goals are different, I’m a true believer that programs should not encompass the “one size fits all” philosophy, but rather develop programs that will help you achieve lifestyle changes and not just short term results. Achievement of one’s goals are met through a combination of proper training, nutrition, and supplementation. Whether your goal is to stay lean or to pack on more muscle mass, resistance training is the base to any program. Timing and intake of nutrients combined with proper rest will ensure the body will have the tools to recover and rebuild. Recovery equals results! This is where supplementation becomes important, supporting the physiological changes induced by training.
I embrace the “less is more” approach by only implementing aspects of a program that make sense for your current fitness level and lifestyle. Again, I want you to be able to achieve long-term success and not get overwhelmed by too much too fast. This is not to say that if you are an experienced individual we can’t amp it up! I look forward to working with the full spectrum of clients, from general wellness to the experienced lifter.
